    2. A solid book of novellas by Ms. Shay. I have enjoyed her writing since I found her a couple of years ago. She did extensive research for writing her firefighters and EMT stories and it shows in this set of novellas. She even gives a breakdown at the end of her research, including time spent at firehouses. You can really discern her respect for these brave individuals in her work. I also want to send out a huge thank you to all our first responders. They take care of all of us.

    9. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of novellas! Taking place in a Fire House we get to see a lot of actual firefighting going on in addition to the romance. I honestly didn't expect these to be quite as romancey as they were but I ended up really enjoying the stories themselves. I also really loved how the novellas are basically in chronological order and we see an overarching story being shared between all six of them, which we then get the conclusion to at the end of collection. I also just [...]

    10. Really goodThis a series of stories about firefighters and paramedics who risk their lives every day to save others. This is the kind of series that leaves you feeling like these people are friends you hate to leave behind. Well written and high tension this book of short stories is hard to put down. I didn't really know much about firefighters except for the times my mother set off the fire alarm, burning toast and I had to say I was sorry about the alarm. They were always very courteous but it [...]

    11. I enjoyed these books very much. Kathryn Shay shows a good knowledge of the fire service, and how the job can cause difficulties in relationships and family life. She portrays very well how close the firemen are within their team, they have to be as they need to trust their colleagues absolutely, their lives may depend on it. There are a couple of side 'mysteries' running through all six books, resolved in the last book, one of them is easy to guess if you think about it; but these are essential [...]

    12. Interesting storiesIn the six stories there was a common theme. Parker Allen was writing a blog that was not flattering to the fire dept. In each story there was a life altering event that made the 2 main characters think about their futures. While the main characters are finding their way, the other back story is there is an arsonist on the loose. At one point Parker is accused of being the arsonist because she knows things no one else besides the fire squad knew. In the end, Parker figures out [...]

    13. I enjoyed this series of novellas. This was much better than many firefighter romance series I’ve read. It’s obvious Kathryn Shay really knows what she’s talking about when it comes to both firefighting and romance. Obviously, because these are novellas and not novels, the stories can’t get as intricate as I like, but I will look for full works from Ms. Shay based on this. The stories are all interconnected, so you'll want to read them in order. I recommend this if you’re looking for q [...]

    14. I love the way Kathryn Shay has woven tales of firefighters and how they deal with everyday and not so everyday obstacles as well as career specific obstacles. Seeing how their family react and the coping mechanisms they use was very touching. Having a firefighter in my own family, these books have given me more insight as to what he may be dealing with on daily basis that others may not even think about! Great read!!

    20. What a great book! This book was incredible,it made you think the stories in it were all true, not fiction at all.And it takes a great author to make me feel this way. Each novella was a personal encounter with a person within a fire department or rescue squad but still kept the integrity of the units as a whole. It is one of those books you have a hard time putting down once you start.I would really like to read more from her.

    21. Heroism6 Wonderful novellas as a town of firefighters, EMT, and police. Each person has a interesting reason for doing their jobs and the most important is saving lives and property. But in the process they find love, friendship, and a different kind of family. They are dealing with a arsonist who might be one of their own, a female news blogger that has a thing against them.

    22. I enjoy reading about firefighters and these novellas feature many of the couples we have met in previous books by this talented writer who actually rode along with real firefighters to write her books as realistically as she could. A great insight into the relationships forged between some of our bravest heroes

    23. Firefighter LoveThis collection of six novellas gives you a look into the day to day experiences of firefighters. I love how Kathryn's research was in Rochester, New York ( as I live here ). The fire hall described is actually one in which I've visited having a cousin that worked there. The integration of women is still fought for and against today.
