    1. Glory on MarsI was given a copy of this book from the author for review. This is my honest opinion of the novel.Sometime in the future, Earth has a fledgling colony on Mars. This story follows the main character, Emma, who is next in line, with her three fellow colonists, to travel to the red planet where eight other settlers await their arrival.I liked Emma, and the book moved along at a nice pace. There is drama in some of the experiences the Mars colony face, as well as the sense of isolation [...]

    2. If you're a fan of hard science fiction, and I mean really HARD, then you will love this book. In fact, I'm inclined to say that it's only on the borderline of sci-fi, that it's more what I would call science faction, i.e. so close to being reality that it's not even that futuristic. Indeed, many people reading this book are likely to live to see a Mars colony in their lifetime. If you loved the movie "The Martian" then this story is a great follow-up to keep your imagination well-grounded on th [...]

    4. To be honest the picture of a pussycat on the cover made me think this is a children’s science fiction story even though I know that barring crew cat-phobias a furry creature can be a psychological support for isolated and lonely colonists. Indeed, this book could be enjoyed by teens as well as adults especially if they are into hard scifi. There have been many novels about Mars – I read them all having an obsession about the red planet. Few are so well-researched as this one. Initially, I t [...]

    5. Kate Rauner's hard science fiction book set on Mars has believable and understandable science and technology. Her descriptions are easy to follow for someone like me who is not scientifically savvy. I compared her book with The Martian. While both are realistic portrayals of possible life and problems on Mars, the problems in The Martian became predictable. As I read the Martian, I would say to myself, OK, now it's time for another breakdown. In Glory on Mars, there is a greater variety of scena [...]

    6. Take a trip to Mars…In Glory on Mars, Kate Rauner introduces us to Emma Winters, a robotics expert and a member of the Settler Three mission to Mars. Hers is the third expedition—S-1, The Pioneers, and S-2, The Builders, have preceeded S-3, The Explorers. The purpose of the early missions is to set up the foundation for a permanent colony on Mars and give humanity a new place to develop and thrive—with a hope that the human race could eventually reach even further and begin to explore the [...]

    7. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review. This is a very sci-fi book. The setting is quite realistic to me and there are many sci-fi technical words. The story is smooth and quite detailed. Most of the characters, except for the main character and a few characters don't appear much making it difficult to imagine what they are like. I'm quite disappointed in the fact that the cat does not have much role in the story as I was looking forward to see more of t [...]
