    1. Yay, at last Rose is able to go to school! I absolutely loved this story. It was also fascinating to see the enormous differences between Rose's school, a posh Melbourne private girls' school, and the co-ed state school in Collingwood. The latter certainly was grim!I love the gorgeous Melbourne setting for the Rose stories, and especially how Rose is a girl from my own area - everything's Hawthorn, Kew, Toorak :)

    2. Although the second book in the series was a little uneventful, things start to escalate in this one, with much more about the suffragette movement and women's cricket as a backdrop to Rose's story.

    3. Great book, like all the "Our Australian Girl" books, good for young readers (maybe grade 4 and up), showing what it was like "in a time gone by" in Australian history.
